Welcome to Hares and Hounds, 19th January 2020

The 2020 season of Trail Running kicks off with Hares and Hounds.

IMPORTANT UPDATE 5th January: Course Changes

We are all very aware of the dryness of our environment and the fire risks at this stage. Total fire bans and closure of various parts of the Queensland Trail network including HQ Plantation are presently in place. Through quite an extensive series of consultation we are pleased to have had an amended course map accepted and approved for the 2020 Hares and Hounds event for Sunday 19 January. As in previous years the course is an
"out and back" course, which is why km markings exist only to 25km. This new course predominately utilises State Forest and the Glasshouse Mtns Conservation Park. PLEASE CAREFULLY REVIEW THE NEW COURSE MAPS AND DIRECTIONS HERE

The event is into its 15th year and is based from the Woodford Pool which is much appreciated after running in the summer heat. We keep this event very low key: the only award is the luxury of completing and finishing, a great team building day. Race Promotions is the organiser, checkpoint volunteers provider and random draw sponsor. This is also the first TTROY (TRAQ Trail Runner of the Year) point score event for TRAQ (Trail Running Association of QLD).
